IGUASSU WATERFALLS |

The biggest waterfalls of the world by the number of waterfalls. The impressive volume of water commands the show, where over 272 falls can be seen, scattered over an area of 2.700 meters of extension, in the border between Brazil and Argentina.
Reaching the Tropical de las Cataratas Hotel, the first view will find a panoramic view of the Argentinean side of the falls. Over 70% of them are in Argentinean territory. So, Brazil enjoys a view to envy. The waterfalls open up as a book for those who are by the Brazilian margin of the Iguassu River.
At the end of the trail there is a platform where one can take the elevator to watch from above the beauty of the Brazilian falls. Following by the right, at the end of the paved trail there is a food court, with a gift shop, coffee shop and restaurant, besides being the stop point for the buses that take tourist back to the National Park’s entrance.

BIRD PARK |

It is the best bird park of South America, where the visitor will have the opportunity to get close to and touch beautiful native species, besides exotic birds from all continents. They are over 160 species of birds distributed in 8-meter high aviaries amidst native forest. During the visit, visitors can enter these aviaries for a better appreciation of birds.
Children below 7 years of age accompanied by the parents free of charge.

MACUCO SAFARI |

3-Km.tour on a jeep through the forest, with explanatory stopovers on the fauna, flora and natives of the region. Walk through the forest over about 600 meters and tour on boat by the rapids of the Iguassu River, reaching, literally, the waterfalls. It’s worth to save some time for this trip, as it is the best and most complete existing in the Brazilian side of the Iguassu Waterfalls. Two children below 7, accompanied by the parents, pay altogether the same price of an adult. A child under 7 accompanied by the parents free of charge.
Approximate time: 2 hours.

ITAIPU BINACIONAL |

Day visits
Itaipu Binational offers 3 types of visits during the day: tourist, special tourist circuit and technical visit.
Tourist: any pax has access to this visit. It’s only necessary to arrive before the indicated times. Public in general R$13,00. Young people from 7 to 16 years R$7,00. Children up to 6 years free of charge.
Technical: it is necessary to arrange with antecedence. This visit is open to the professionals of the area, engineers, technicians, engineering students and authorities.
Day visit times (Monday thr. Saturday): Morning, at 8:00, 9:00 and 10:00. Afternoon, at 14:00, 15:00 and 15:30.
Special tourist circuit
The Special Tourist Circuit consists of a more detailed visit to the Itaipu Dam. The trip starts with the display of a short flick at the Visitation Reception Center. Right after the film, the visit continues in a special bus, with stopovers at the following stations:

3. Cathedral;
4. Production Building
5. Central command room;
6. Spillway;
7. Gallery
Note: the order of the former stopovers can vary or even does not happen due to maintenance services in machinery and equipment.

Departure every 30 minutes. Monday thr. Saturday from 8:00 to 10:00 and from 14:00 to 16:00hs.

Monumental Illumination
Visiting Itaipu now is different!
The Itaipu Dam now can be visited in the evening. Synchronization of lights and soundtrack result in a unique show. The Light spectacle is performed only two days a week. Tickets can be acquired with antecedence (limited tickets).

City: Puerto Iguazú
Its colonization commenced in 1901, where people would arrive aboard old Argentinean ships sailing the Paraná River upstream from Buenos Aires to Guaíra. In one of these trips Victoria Aguirre disembarked. Today, the name of the pioneer is well known by all of us. Even a main avenue of this town is named after her. City located at 10 Km. from Foz do Iguaçu’s downtown by the Trancredo Neves Bridge, over the Iguassu River, bears as big attraction shopping in the city with products from Argentina and offers the Duty Free Shop with imported products. Next to the border with Brazil.
Puerto Iguazú has approximately 28.000 inhabitants. It represents an important tourist center for its country. It has an international airport, the 4th in importance in Argentina, by the characteristics of its runway and 2nd in the northeast region operating 24 hours round.
The main tourist attractions are: Iguassu National Park, Iguassu Waterfalls, San Martin Island, tour over the banks of the Iguassu River, Macuco trail, Yacaratiá circuit and Full Moon tour.

The biggest electronic Shopping Center of South America, attracts tourist from all over Brazil. Here we find a large diversity of imported products, electronic equipment, computing, perfumes, toys and decoration items, among many others. Ciudad del Este was founded by the Paraguayan president, General Stroessner, on the 3rd of February, 1957. In those times the city was named after him. After the fall of the Paraguayan dictatorship, the name of the city became Ciudad del Este.
